A bag of peas is useful because it can supply a handful rather than a whole meal's worth of vegetables. That flexibility disappears if the bag repeatedly thaws and refreezes into a solid block.
Close it securely after each use and return it to the freezer promptly. Cook the peas according to the packet; frozen vegetables are not all sold as ready-to-eat foods. Add them to a dish with enough time to cook through without leaving them simmering until dull.
Peas work in rice, noodles, soups, and rough toast toppings. They are particularly handy when the fresh vegetable drawer is almost empty. If you find yourself forgetting them, put one pea-based meal on the plan rather than buying another bag because the freezer looks generally well stocked.
